I know it’s dramatic, but i do so much that i can’t share with you (although if you want to see something i worked on at my day job then you could have a look here), so it’s nice to have something of my own out there for public consumption.
Once again i’m contributing to a Gallery1988 art show extravaganza, this time themed around the films and other pursuits of Steve Martin. If i have to explain that this illustration is based on LA Story then you’re probably not the target market for this show, but i encourage you to go and have a look if you’re in LA next month.
Opening night is June 8th and this piece will be on sale as a two color screen print (once again printed by the good, talented and very patient guys at Parliament of Feathers) at the show and then online shortly after. Read more here.
There’s so much about this album that I love, but it’s usually too intense to listen to in one sitting! If this gets your goat, try on Aeroplane over the Sea, and if you’re feeling bitter try Oh Comely. It will make any bitterness swell so much that you’ll have to let it go; it’s a musical detox.
A sure sign that summer is coming is when this music starts to make sense.
Mmm, sunlight.

Did you know that Kryptonian men like Superman have the uterus and bear the children? Would you limit Superman’s reproductive rights? Is this a relevant argument?
Maybe not, but I’ve been waiting for the day science would make womb implant surgery possible for men, so everyone could share in the childbearing in a literal sense. And so maybe we could all understand each other a bit better.
Male bits and female bits go together so why don’t we work together for each other?

NEW YORK |
May 16 (Reuters) - A U.S. judge on Wednesday blocked enforcement of a recently enacted law’s provision that authorizes indefinite military detention for those deemed to have “substantially supported” al Qaeda, the Taliban or “associated forces.”
U.S. District Judge Katherine Forrest in Manhattan ruled in favor of a group of civilian activists and journalists who said they feared being detained under a section of the law, which was signed by U.S. President Barack Obama in December 2011.
“In the face of what could be indeterminate military detention, due process requires more,” the judge said.
She added that it was in the public interest to reconsider the law so that “ordinary citizens are able to understand the scope of conduct that could subject them to indefinite military detention.”
By issuing a preliminary injunction, the judge prevents the U.S. government from enforcing section 1021 of the National Defense Authorization Act’s “Homeland Battlefield” provisions. (Reporting By Basil Katz; Editing by Peter Cooney)
